New Publication: Neurobiological and Psychosocial Correlates of Problematic Social Media Use

A big congratulations to our lab members, Holly and Matteo, on the publication of their paper, "Neurobiological and Psychosocial Correlates of Problematic Social Media Use: An Addiction Framework" in the journal Addiction Research & Theory!

This study is the first to examine problematic social media use through a biopsychosocial addiction framework, integrating mental health factors, social media behaviours, and brain imaging data. The findings identified three distinct psychosocial profiles associated with problematic social media use and revealed that different characteristics of problematic use are linked to unique psychosocial and neurobiological patterns.

We're incredibly proud of their hard work and excited to see this important research contribute to our understanding of social media use and mental health.
