Congratulations to Lab Alum Keira Aubin on Receiving CIHR CGS-D Award!

A big congratulations to our lab alum, Keira Aubin, on being awarded the CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship – Doctoral (CGS-D)! This highly competitive national award recognizes outstanding doctoral research in health sciences, and we are thrilled to see Keira’s continued success in her academic journey. We’re incredibly proud of her achievement and excited to see all that she will accomplish next.

Congratulations to Lab Alum Mya Duffy on Receiving SSHRC CGRS-M Award

A big congratulations to our lab alum, Mya Duffy, on being awarded the SSHRC Canadian Graduate Research Scholarship – Master’s (CGRS-M) for 2026–2027! Mya was also offered the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST)! We’re incredibly proud to see her continued success in graduate research and excited to watch all that she will accomplish next.

Congratulations to Matteo on His Acceptance to Queen’s Medical School

We are thrilled to share that our undergraduate thesis student, Matteo Montgomery, has been accepted to medical school at Queen's University! New publication alert!

One of the first of her PhD work, Tanisse and Kim, alongside expert co-authors have published a research article looking at stigmatizing sentiment towards substances across Canadian subreddits. Not only has there not been a scan of stigmatizing sentiments online but we find that the perspectives of punishment, enabling, risk of safety, and resentment, reflect many of the current tensions that may have led to changes in substance use policies in Canada.
